Florida courtrooms must accept the condition of Parental Alienation Syndrome when considering the well being of children through divorce.  Estranged parents and children suffer the rigors of divorce when the custodial parent alienates the other parent and deprecates that parent to the abuse and harm of the children. Ask any estranged parent and they will tell you their story. Since it's diagnosis in 1985, this phenomenon was simply known on the street as typical divorce war. Now, this action has been defined, legitimized and may considered in court in the State of Florida where children are suffering in hostile divorces.

Most courts will admit that the only thing they can inforce is child support. Well, visitation issues for estranged parents now has a credible defense for estranged parents with the context of limiting visitation to a loving healthy parent. Children need the right of access to their loving parent as well.

This is very real, and very damaging for children to lose the nuture of their other parent in their life.
Now, where there is cause for concern, sexual abuse for example, protection is the word. Alienation is the work of the custodial parent seeking to extend revenge upon the other parent in a divorce using their children as a means to get even, punish, or justify their own actions in a divorce. It is a form of control, of manipulation, and brainwashing that serves only the diseased parent.

The link below will document the validity of this position for the courts to render in Florida, by virtue of passing the FRYE test for court room acceptance.
