One of the goals of the Nashville Prayer Summit was "to grow in the life-changing grace of God." I can say that was an experience, as well as discovering how to organize our own initiatives locally for prayer that changes things.

Guests led a group of Nazarene Pastors and leaders in the experience of a journey through new avenues of prayer and renewal, and the results were heartwarming. We are tame in our responses, unlike the revival experience going on in Lakeland, FL, but that is no reduction in the magnitude of results. Sometimes the Lord chooses to speak and move in quietness, and humbly, gently speaks to the hearts of those in prayer. It was refreshing to me to see this movement.

The only real change in the world comes through prayer, and we she be doing more of it. In our comfort and ease, prayer legs have to be strengthened if the our part of the world is going to change. Prayer is the process through which the power for ministry takes place. When prayer becomes the congregations way of life, the body life of the church gets stronger.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Phil 3:10 "I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death..." Prayer is a corporate, congregation, everyone event. "The fellowship of sharing in His sufferings..." hit me pretty hard when I understood that, I alone, as Pastor am not the only prayer in our midst, but if we are going to become like Him, that would be in prayer.

There is more to share on this. In fact, the month of June will be a walk through this discipline of faith in our morning messages. So, come in and bring your Bible if you dare and discover why revivals happen, why healing happen, why decisions to follow Christ are made at altars of prayer. The Kingdom of God is usher in when the Church becomes a House of Prayer.

We will be praying for you, when you write in, so write us. We are committed to pray and to help you grow in your faith as you do as well.

The first Zoe Life Festival was a work of love designed to address strong issues that young people are battling with. National and regional artists were selected to deliver a message which is, "there is hope in Jesus Christ." In that mission, the Festival succeeded in staying true to the ministry effort. Souls were saved, heart tugging testimonies were heard and moved all that heard about the victory that is possible through Jesus Christ.

We should all rally around Beacon of Hope Ministries as they have learned a hard lesson in promoting an event of this magnitude, and that is the high cost of doing this type of ministry. An appeal was given to bring an offering so that next year it will be a commercial success as well. Attendance was low, and the location changed right at the last minute, but the program still went on.

Your contributions would be greatly appreciated by clicking on their website www.myjesusnexus.com as this new ministry took a large hit on carrying most of the expense themselves. They have their 501c3 tax exemption, so all contributions will be fully receipted.

Sometimes, the best way to encourage a ministry is to support them. They have done a noble work here. We encourage all who may to extend an offering as seed for their future work and ministry in this immense outreach vision they are so courageously doing.

The old phrase, "There is nothing new under the sun," is very appropriate this election year. When in the throws of emotional political chatter about government, it should be a relief to your anxiety that we have heard it all before. The buzz words of "change," and "new," all prompt the questions ... "change to what?" and "new what?"  They both sound like taxation to me. The work of the political demagogues serve to create discontent in the minds of voters. The buzz words are the most common ordinances. And you know, I am tired of Wolf Blitzer too.

One of the fortunate aspects of our Republic is that we have differences that can work in a creative tension for the best ideas to emerge. It is called, "freedom of speech." To overthrow contrary ideas, in fascist elitism insults my degrees. In fact it raises them to further exercise writings and studies.

Should the checks and balances of bi-partisanship be lost in this election, you will have voted one step closer toward socialism. Should you give up on the process, you will have moved one step closer also by opting out of the process altogether. I will call that a vote for socialism as well. You will have less freedom, less money, and less voice in the process than you had before, all because you were too frustrated in not seeing your candidate make the ticket.

If anything, your vote in favor of accountability is your only defense. Presently, you have a Democrat dominated body of government. Will you yield the executive high office over to the hands of a monopolized policy that believes its new religion of "change" via government will serve you better? They will now have the power to overide an veto, along with a president.  With that position, they will make no allowance for objective dialog and balance of government. You have seen it before. They make the promise for change, and act as if they know better than you what should be done. Will you yield, as a citizen, your most basic right, the right to vote, to indifference? Will you remain silent in a world of so many loud, persuasive voices, while your position goes unrepresented? Or maybe you feel that would represent you. Maybe you feel satisfied.

This meassage is simply one to encourage you to speak, vote, be heard, or forever your silence WILL make a change, a change that could just cost you another freedom.

If all the words of "change" suggest to steer me toward European Socialism, I would prefer to "change not." This is America, and as long as I still have a free voice, God and Country are to be working together toward social change... not, socialism in it humanistic Godless central mandate for change ignoring our literal foundation's documents and re-writing a contemporaneous meaning into it. The pillars of faith are not up for a vote... only the powers that seek to further silence the right to speak of faith. I have no faith in a government that seeks to silence God.

If "proposed change" is to mean, push the base of faith related initiatives to the periphery even further, and make the government our savior... that sounds like "a new change of government in the form of a new religion." If Ann Coulter is right in her book, that is a change not worth making.

The "CHANGE" we need is change away from this wanton innovative spirit that moves in naivete' believing that warrior civilizations are interested in talking peace, or sharing any kind of powers.

The "CHANGE" we need is a return to the reality that we are "one nation under God" rather than "we are gods powerful enough to speak a new world into existence by words alone."

There was only One God that could create from Words, and He is still in control. You can't vote for Him, but, He has the only power for REAL CHANGE... and He is counting on you to exercise your power to vote.

Thank you for planning, praying and participating in the district assembly and conventions. Most of you were present for all of the events. Makes me proud and honored to serve with a group of pastors who really care about each other and our unified effort: DEVELOPING CUTTING EDGE DISCIPLES.

Following are a few items that will be of interest to you:
  • The Southeast Prayer Summit at TNU is only a few days away. This is a powerful life changing event. I am looking forward to experiencing this with you. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
  • Thanks to your hard work and sacrifice, our World Evangelism Fund giving has risen from 72 to 95%. Please, call a meeting with your NMI president and finance committee ASAP to plan your giving strategy for this new church year. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world are depending on us.
  • I have met with the Ruskin, Clearwater First and Tampa First church boards this week. During the pastor search period the following elders will serve in interim positions: Henry Mills, Ruskin, Tim Hancock, Clearwater First. and Ernie Lewis, Tampa First.
  • Ocoee Harmony and Orlando Cross Point have entered into a ministry partnership. Ken Adams, associate at Cross Point will become the preaching pastor. Other staff and lay leaders at Center Point will offer expertise in discipleship, worship arts, church finance and starting a daycare. My prayer is that this model will become a trend across the district. Healthy team members unselfishly share their resources with others.
  • Please continue to pray for Eugene Frame regarding the death of his father. Greg and Tawanda Mills are caring for his critically ill mother in their home with the aid of Hospice.
  • Debbie and our son Ben flew to Dallas yesterday to meet with a specialist. Ben had a few good weeks during the winter but has been experiencing increased pain and loss of mobility the past 3 months. I have lost count but this is at least the 15th doctor to examine him. His appointment is at 10:00AM this morning. Please claim Jeremiah 31:4 with me today, "I have loved you with an everlasting love . . . I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt."
I love each of you and count it a privilege to serve the Lord at your side in Central Florida.

Grace and peace,
Larry

A few friendly suggestions for avoiding unfriendly phishers from Yahoo.com:
Avoiding phishing scams is tough. Phishers know every trick in the book, and they're dreaming up new ones as we speak. So here are some things to keep in mind while you're online:
Don't believe every warning you read ? especially pop-up warnings that appear while you're surfing the Web. Unscrupulous companies use pop-up ads to display false warnings about your computer. Ignore them.
Do NOT click any button in these pop-ups, such as a "Close" or "No" button, or the "Close" box that may appear in the upper-right corner of the pop-up. Doing this might install a virus or other malicious software on your computer. To safely close a pop-up ad, press Ctrl-W (if you're using a Windows computer) or Command-W (on a Mac computer). You may receive an email that claims to be from a computer expert, warning you of a virus. These are usually hoaxes. Do not follow the steps described in any email unless you're sure the threat is real.
There is no Yahoo! Lottery. Don't be fooled by people pretending to be Yahoo! and offering cash prizes. We would never send you information about a contest you never entered. If you've received a message like "Final Notification: Yahoo! Mail Winner!" or "Your Email Address Has Won $XX million," it's a scam. Don't reply to the email, don't click any links in it, and never divulge any personal information. Instead, click the "Spam" button.

We work to deliver you a safe online experience and trust these suggestions may contribute to a safer online experience.

Dan Green will be playing at Friday in the Light Cafe' featuring new unreleased songs and selections from THE PATH. Dan's acoustic folk style lyric and delivery is reminiscent of an era when every song had a message, and a tale to tell. The stories for May 16th are told for anyone that has found love, lived it, and survived that ending story while life challenges onto a new path. You can hear more on his studio website http://www.amerisound.com/

We invite any and all to this special evening who have experienced the same. There is no cover charge but a donation will be received.
