Florida courtrooms must accept the condition of Parental Alienation Syndrome when considering the well being of children through divorce. Estranged parents and children suffer the rigors of divorce when the custodial parent alienates the other parent and deprecates that parent to the abuse and harm of the children. Ask any estranged parent and they will tell you their story. Since it's diagnosis in 1985, this phenomenon was simply known on the street as typical divorce war. Now, this action has been defined, legitimized and may considered in court in the State of Florida where children are suffering in hostile divorces.
Most courts will admit that the only thing they can inforce is child support. Well, visitation issues for estranged parents now has a credible defense for estranged parents with the context of limiting visitation to a loving healthy parent. Children need the right of access to their loving parent as well.
This is very real, and very damaging for children to lose the nuture of their other parent in their life. Now, where there is cause for concern, sexual abuse for example, protection is the word. Alienation is the work of the custodial parent seeking to extend revenge upon the other parent in a divorce using their children as a means to get even, punish, or justify their own actions in a divorce. It is a form of control, of manipulation, and brainwashing that serves only the diseased parent.
The link below will document the validity of this position for the courts to render in Florida, by virtue of passing the FRYE test for court room acceptance.

<http://www.times- news.com/> Turning children against a parent constitutes child abuse To the Editor:
? After reading the letters that have appeared over the last several weeks regarding fathers, child custody and court hearings, I would like to add another subject to ponder: Parental alienation. The anger and bitterness that most feel during the breakdown of a marriage is most likely the root of these battles. After all, outside of abusive situations, why wouldn't mothers want their children to still be involved and influenced by the father that was acceptable to parent up to the point of separation and divorce? This launches the final strike to control a situation and get even. For those that don't know, "parental alienation occurs anytime a parent, friend or relative speaks badly about the other parent so that the child can hear what is being said. In severe cases children are manipulated and brainwashed (programmed) into such cases of confusion that their perception of events and people around them are severely distorted. Parental alienation in its most severe form is a heinous form of child abuse and neglect. It is a dangerous manipulation of children's minds to alter their perception of reality about another parent. The purpose of marginalizing this parent is that he or she has no means to be an effective parent, or to cut that parent out of a child's life entirely. Naturally, the brainwashed children often support the side of the offending parent. Programmed children lose their own sense of reason and their ability to express their own choice in the matter. If the alienator is not contained, these manipulations of the child's mind become the incubator of their own future psychological problems. Unfortunately, in many cases, fully capable parents and their extended families are eliminated. Once the cutting out of a parent has occurred, the child is left under the full care of the most disturbed and dysfunctional parent. These tragedies are played out in our family courts every day. Normal methods of handling parental conflict such as mediation and therapy do not work in these cases. The alienated parent is forced to appeal to a judge to make a decision that will enable them to continue to see their children (from www.stopparentalali enation.org) . April 25 commemorated International Parental Alienation Awareness Day. With awareness comes education, and with education, comes the power to stop the mental and emotional abuse of young, manipulated children. To quote Dr. Martin Luther King, "Do anything, no matter how small, to make a difference." We need to do something to stop this plague that infects our children. Where does all this end? Surely our elected judges and lawyers don't feel that all this talk about father's rights will just fade away in a few weeks. I know the fathers, local supporters, Maryland legislators and a number of local attorneys (who support us privately) will continue this fight until the laws are changed and the children are where they should be - with both parents. So to the parents out there who think they had the last laugh as they walked away from the courtroom, you are on borrowed time. Your rule as parental dictator will end sooner than you think. May 7th, 2007, will live on in history as the day the Pastor changed his stripes. At the evening service of the Central Florida District Conference, Pastor Paul and Rebekah Burdick became official Nazarene Pastoral elders, as Wesleyan Church credentials were recognized and entered into the record.
Pastor Paul graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with both a B.A. and M.A. in Pastoral ministries and Biblical studies before serving in the Wesleyan Church right out of school since 1990.
"I guess it was time to come home." says Pastor Paul, "for it is of the Lord that we should make it home."
Certainly there is much to do before that ultimate departure to heaven.
Thank You Central Florida District and everyone involved in the process of making our welcome.

The first Sunday of every month is Communion Sunday here at Wesley Chapel. You don't have to be a member of the Church to receive the Lord's Supper, simply know in your heart and mind that you are living in a manner worthy of the Gospel.
What does that mean? That means you have made the confession that Jesus Christ is your Savior and Lord, that you have confessed your sins to Him, believing He alone can save you, and that you are living your life to honor Him bearing His name, Christ-ian.
In the Protestant tradition, Communion, also known as The Lord's Supper, is a memorial, and remembrance of the last supper when Jesus, on the night before He was to be crucified, shared the Passover Feast with his disciples. In the actual Passover Feast, there is more than one cup represented with individual meanings. We practice this Christian sacrament as a remembrance that one day we will eat the bread and drink of the one cup of salvation, symbols of the body and blood of Jesus Christ Who died for our sins, and was raised from the tomb, prooving to the world that Jesus Is Lord!
Please join us. For all are welcome to eat at the Lord's table.

It seems the only way the National Day of Prayer gets to be newsworthy, is that a church, school or community organization has to promote the event themselves. I searched the website engine of the Tampa Tribune and found no item written by their staff or inserted from national news sources. I will look again. In times of such great violence and news, what is wrong with supporting the positive action of faithful people to intercede on the part of a world of anger? Is the Tribune angry with religion? Was the news reported as a silent statement by not reporting about it at all? The nation is at war and the Tribune only wants to talk property tax reform.
God help one of the more violent cities in America, Tampa, FL, when prayer is forgotten. WE forgive them as it proves again, "They know not what they do..." and we turn the other cheek for their disciminating silence. From the Biblical ghettos come the prayers of the faithful to help you Tampa, but believe this, our prayers will not remain silent.
